Nova Scotia’s rowers won four medals at last week’s national championships in Burnaby, B.C.
Dartmouth’s Andrew Todd led the parade with a gold in the PR3 men’s single and Halifax’s Emerson Crick and Dartmouth’s Noel Balsor teamed up to win silver in junior men’s pair.
Winning bronze were Halifax’s Claire Ellison in junior women’s single and Cody Bailey, with Jakub Buczek of British Columbia, in senior men’s pair. Dartmouth’s Jenna Pelham also placed fourth in senior women’s lightweight single and Halifax’s Ben Walls competed in under-23 men’s lightweight single.
“This is our best performance ever at a national championship and I attribute our success to the high quality of work our athletes have done,” provincial coach Patrick Cody said in a news release.
“Our athletes train very hard, have great values, and remain positive and supportive of each other, even under pressure.”
