Lauren Davies scored the winner and Kaitlyn Woodworth had the shutout as the Auburn Drive Eagles edged the Lockview Dragons 1-0 in metro high school girls’ hockey league action on Tuesday.
The Eagles are riding a high after capturing the Macneil Motors Classic at Cole Harbour Place over the weekend. In the championship game they edged the C.P. Allen Cheetahs 3-2 in a shootout after four overtime periods.
Olivia Conrod and Colby Capstick had the regulation goals and game MVP Emily Edwards provided the shootout winner. Tournament MVP Sara Jackson made 50 saves in the win. Camryn Oyler and Anika Chasse had the Cheetahs goals.
The Eagles also won the boys’ division with a 6-2 victory over the Dartmouth Spartans.
J.L. Ilsley 7, Prince Andrew 0: Cody Jollimore and Stuart Smeltzer each scored twice and Adam Fisher had the shutout for the Judges in boys’ league play. Connor Duggan, Colin MacIntyre and Austin Lefort also scored for the Judges.
Halifax Grammar 101 Auburn Drive 67: Ryan Munro scored 21 points as the Gryphons defeated the Eagles on Tuesday. Jonah Crowther added 17, Ethan Marshall Harris 15 and Lydell Husbands 12 for Grammar. Eagles’ scorers were unavailable.
C.P. Allen 62, Halifax West 61: Nikhil Abraham and Joe Frenette each scored 15 points as the Cheetahs edged the Warriors on Monday night. Alp Ozgoren added 13 for the Cheetahs while Redford Ingram netted 20 and Aaron Agdeppa 11 for the Warriors.
In girls’ action on Tuesday, the Carrefour Leopards downed the Cole Harbour Cavaliers 66-31.
