The Citadel Phoenix girls’ and Cobequid Cougars’ boys are looking to extend their domination in NSSAF volleyball when championship action begins on Friday.

The Phoenix are in the hunt for a fifth straight girls’ championship in the tournament being hosted by Park View Education Centre.

They will be joined Cobequid, Riverview, Dartmouth, Sir John A. Macdonald, Park View, Dr. J.H. Gillis and Lockview.

The Cobequid boys’ will compete at Auburn Drive in search of their fourth straight title. Joining the Cougars and host Eagles are Dartmouth, West Kings, Citadel, Par-En-Bas, Auburn Drive, Sackville and Horton.

Division 2

Clare will be out to repeat as the girls’ champions in the tournament hosted by South Colchester Academy. Also competing are 2017 runner-up SAERC, West Kings, Millwood, Richmond, Digby and Par-En-Bas. Host Cape Breton Highlands will vie for the boys’ title with Pomquet, AWEC, Dalbrae, Rive-Sud, Middleton, South Colchester and NDA.

Division 3

Rive-Sud will host the girls’ championship tournament that features NDA, Sacred Heart, Pomquet, Drumlin Heights, East Antigonish, Inverness and Hants North.
