Age 90, Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 16, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital with family at his side. Born January 7, 1928 in Lunenburg, he was a son of the late Edwin and Hazel Marie (Keizer) Zwicker. Donald was a veteran of
Age 90, Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 16, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital with family at his side. Born January 7, 1928 in Lunenburg, he was a son of the late Edwin and Hazel Marie (Keizer) Zwicker. Donald was a veteran of the Second World War having served with the Merchant Navy. Aside from serving in the military, he also worked as a fisherman. Donald enjoyed driving his scooter around town and on the trails. He is survived by daughters, Donna (Randall) Chetwynd, Hazel (Arthur) Purdy, both of Rockville; and Carolyn Zwicker (David Sisco), Yarmouth; as well as by eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Evangeline Bollivar and Joan Robar. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Cecilia M. (Smith) Zwicker; sister, Marguerite Whynot; and brothers, Paul, Joe, Clarey, Mervin and Darrell. Visitation took place from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth, where the funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Monday, November 19th, Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiated. Interment followed in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. Donations in memory of Donald may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
