Two drivers face stunting charges after their vehicles were allegedly observed driving more than 50 km/h over the speed limit on the Bedford Highway toward Lower Sackville on Saturday night.

Halifax Regional Police said the vehicles were spotted by officers at 10:40 p.m. and were subsequently stopped on highways 101 and 102.

A 28-year-old man from Halifax and an 18-year-old man from Hammonds Plains were charged with stunting under the Motor Vehicle Act, which carries a fine of $2,422.50.

In addition, both vehicles were seized and the men were suspended from driving for one week.
